Higher Standards is the premier SAT preparation and tutorial organization in both Miami and Santa Cruz County, known for its effective methods and fun, accessible instructors. Since its inception in 1995, our students have achieved total increases of up to 600 points.
In 2001, after achieving success in our home city of Miami, Higher Standards expanded to Santa Cruz County. So far in the 2009-2010 school year, our director in Santa Cruz County has helped students achieve an average increase of nearly 250 points! And now, after 9 years of success, our Santa Cruz County branch has expanded to include a host of tutors to cover all school subjects. We are proud of our team and hope to serve Santa Cruz County well.

Jerilyn Kass has been the premier SAT instructor in Santa Cruz County for 9 years and last year expanded her repertoire to include training for the ACT exam. Jerilyn brings an entrepreneurial spirit, vibrant personality, and thoughtful nature to all her classes. She uses humor, stories, and weird sounds, with a strong emphasis on student participation and involvement, to help her students achieve more than they thought they could. |

Dr. Jeffrey Rothkopf is the creator of the Higher Standards curriculum and has been training students to beat the SAT for 20 years. He has taught at the University of Miami, Miami-Dade Community College, and Florida high schools. Dr. Rothkopf is a dynamic, involved instructor who uses creativity and wacky humor to make even the most challenging subjects enjoyable. He has garnered a stellar reputation in the South Florida area that has helped Higher Standards to triple in size in the past three years.

Michele Rothkopf is a Florida-certified, licensed teacher who has 20 years of private tutoring experience and over 10 years of classroom teaching experience in public and private schools. Michele manages the tutorial division and is our administrative guru. Her friendly, clear, and compassionate way with people and her efficient, reliable systems keep the Miami operation running smoothly.
