Introductory SAT/ACT/PSAT Strategies/Facts Workshop Video
Before viewing the video, please read the below introduction and print out the workshop handouts!
About The Workshop
On May 17, 2020, Higher Standards Tutorial offered a free live online SAT/ACT/PSAT introductory strategies/facts class for high school students and their parents. You can view an edited version of that class by clicking on the below video. This 100-minute in-depth class covers...
The class is taught by Dr. Jeffrey Rothkopf, a popular SAT/ACT/PSAT instructor for over 30 years and Director of Higher Standards, which provides expert standardized test preparation and college essay assistance. For students seeking the best prep program, this workshop provides the invaluable opportunity to "test-drive" Dr. Rothkopf, who teaches all Higher Standards test prep courses and who has attained perfect scores in all SAT sections on past exams. Note that the video does not address the new Digital SAT and PSAT exams, but rest assured that the course itself will! |
Before viewing the video
There are three links beneath the below video:
* The first is a worksheet that each viewer -- students AND parents -- should print out and complete along the way during the video. * The second & third are the two sides of a Reading Comprehension worksheet. Students should print out both sides. If they would like to get the most out of the portion of the video where that worksheet is addressed, before viewing the video students should complete that worksheet, giving themselves a 9-minute time limit (STOP once 9 minutes have elapsed). We strongly encourage parents to join their sons/daughters in viewing the video. The guidance portion of the class provides important information for both parents and students; additionally, while the lessons covered during the strategies portion of the workshop will be of most direct use to the students, parents will still have a better understanding of what their daughters/sons experience during the test and will also get a good feel for Dr. Rothkopf's teaching style. |
