2023 Summer-Fall Comprehensive Prep Course
(July - October 2023)
This course begins on July 12 and prepares for the October 2023 SAT, ACT and PSAT exams (students can also elect and are encouraged to take additional tests along the way). Since Higher Standards records every class session, students who enroll after the start date or who need to miss classes can arrange to view the class recordings for an additional $10 per class.
Classes meet on Wednesdays and Sundays during Summer Break, then shift to Sundays-only once the school year begins. The SAT component of this course is focused upon the current paper-and-pencil version of the exam, which will continue to be available through December 2023. For students who will be taking the new digital version of the PSAT in October or one of the digital SAT exams that commence in March 2024, there will be two optional class sessions to cover the application of the course lessons to the digital version for an additional $30 (this option will be explored once the course begins).

Note that the time for the September 24 class may be earlier...to be updated this week

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Since our courses sometimes reach their enrollment limits well in advance of their starting dates, we strongly recommend reserving your seats as early as possible. We accept $50 non-refundable deposits in order to secure a space in any of our programs...spaces are not secured until the deposit has been sent. Deposits will be applied toward the course tuition and will lock in a seat at our current tuition rates for whichever course you are selecting.
There are three steps for registration:
(1) Send an email to drjeff@higherstandards.biz with the following information:
a) Student's name
b) Parents' names
c) Student's email addresses
d) Parent's email addresses
e) Student's phone numbers
f) Parents' phone numbers
g) Primary home mailing address
h) Student's school name
i) Student's grade level when the course will end (i.e. in Fall 2023)
j) Do you plan to attend in-person or remotely through Zoom?
k) How did you hear of Higher Standards?
(2) Send in either your full tuition payment ($1395) or a non-refundable tuition deposit ($50, which will be credited toward the tuition). If you send a deposit, the balance of the tuition ($1345) will be due two weeks before the course begins. If you are enrolling within 2 weeks of the start date for a course, please remit the full tuition at the time of enrollment.
If you are an out-of-town student who will be attending through Zoom or if you will be attending remotely for your first class, you will need to arrange to receive the course manual prior to the date of the first session. We can either arrange for your to come to our home office to pick up the manual or we can arrange to ship the manual to you. Note that there is a $15 additional charge to cover the cost of shipping the manual and it may take at least 4 business days to arrive, so plan accordingly. We can also arrange expedited shipping; cost will be determined based on shipping costs.
Our preferred method of payment is Zelle, but there are a few options:
a) Zelle. This is our preferred method of payment. Using your Zelle or bank's app, simply send the payment to Michele Rothkopf at the email address drjeff@higherstandards.biz or through our Zelle-only phone number, 305-790-1239. Note that this is NOT the phone number to call to reach Higher Standards.
b) Check, cash or money order. This can either be dropped off in person or sent to us through the United States Postal Service. Send us an email at drjeff@higherstandards.biz if you'd like our mailing address.
c) Venmo or PayPal. Simply use the Venmo app or visit the PayPal website and send the payment to drjeff@higherstandards.biz.
(3) Please forward copies of all previous PSAT, PreACT, SAT and ACT exams the student has taken, so we have the most complete picture of your scoring history. If you have never taken any of these tests, let us know that, too (but do check with the school to be certain...you'd be surprised how often students HAVE taken at least a previous PSAT but they and their parents do not remember it!).

We will contact you within two days of your enrollment
to confirm receipt of your deposit and to gather
any additional information we may need.
Students planning to attend through Zoom
will need to arrange to pick up their course manual
or to have us ship it to them for an additional $15.
A few weeks before the course begins -- or within two days of receiving your course payment (if within two weeks of the start date) -- you will receive a set of around 10 e-mails providing a lot of information (regarding course schedules, makeup videos, directions to the course location, extended time testing, test registration, payment and more). Since we communicate mainly via e-mail, make sure that your e-mail account is set to receive drjeff@higherstandards.biz as a friendly e-mail address.

Our Guarantee: After completing one of our Comprehensive Prep Courses, if by the end of that school year you have achieved neither a 100-point SAT-score increase nor a 2-point ACT-score increase (compared to PSAT, SAT and ACT scores you had prior to attending any Higher Standards class or workshop), you can retake the Comprehensive Prep Course for only $50! If you HAVE achieved one of those increases, you can still retake the Comprehensive Prep Course for half-tuition!
